question about keris

Greetings to all keris lovers!I would like to ask for some information regarding the making or purpose of keris pijit/picit.Perhaps someone of our Indonesian friends might add some useful info about those thumb impression keris.

They say it's quite rare as a kind of keris because of the special "abbilities" the empy may possess.Any thoughts/pictures?

Picture references from old post. Note: Keris A and B are keris picit. ;)

The shortest piece is a keris picit.

Would you consider this a thumb or some other fingerprint?

Imho, it doesn't look like the typical picit ('thumb impression')... (maybe a baby's thumb, perhaps) :D.

Hmmm...I do love your piece, though... so sweet. My type of blade with nice 'greneng' works, pendongkok (hilt ring), hulu (hilt) and sarung (sheath). Should you ever wanted to let it go... do remember me... ;)

However, I wonder what's the purpose of such a 'dent' at the base of the blade? Is it on one side or on both sides of the blade?
Clearer close-up pictures might help to see the structure of that area. :)

Sorry, but this keris is not keris picit even if made by Empu anak. It is a nice keris, and sorry, but I cannot tell why the dot impression.

ANOTHER POSSIBILITY WOULD BE A SMALL CALIBER LOW VELOCITY BULLET STRIKE. EXAMPLES ARE TO BE FOUND IN MORO KRIS SO IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE IT MIGHT HAVE OCCURED IN KERIS FROM OTHER PLACES. IF IT IS PURPOSFULLY FORGED IN THE BLADE THEN PERHAPS IT HELD A BIT OF GOLD AT SOME TIME IN THE PAST. ITS A NICE LOOKING KERIS WITH A XTRA ADDED MYSTERY. :) CONGRADULATIONS!!

Hey Lew. You have shown this one before and i like it very much. I have to agree with the general sentiment that it is not picit, but i also do not believe it is a bullet strike. This impression looks very intentional and well placed. I couldn't begin to tell you why it is there, but it had meaning to it's maker for sure. :)
