Military Sling, but for what ?

I was at an auction last week and the auctioneer offered up a lot of Swedish Mauser slings; I did, what one should never do; bid on items not previously viewed and inspected .Well I won them and I don't think they are Swedish, but rather Swiss, and I don't have any idea what they go to.
Each one measure 44" long and 1.25" wide.The buttons are made of steel.
If anyone can tell me what I've got, it would be appreciated;" better late than never!"

it would be helpful to have a picture of the whole sling but it seems to be a sling for a Swiss Schmidt Rubin rifle

Good point and thanks for the great information.Looks like a sling for the M1889 or the M1911.

Hi
I have bid blind in the past and gotten v lucky
my best was a Janbiya with rhino horn handle and a khukuri for 12 euro (with commission)
have some rubbish as well but sometimes there are diamonds out there to be picked up
