Rare Philippine bolo for sale. This is a pre-WWII commemorative bolo with the hilt carved into the likeness of Philippine national hero Jose Rizal who was executed at the turn of the century by the Spanish. The bolo itself is from central Luzon. It has a stout 16.5 inch bilog blade. The carabao horn hilt is carved into the bust of Jose Rizal...nice detail work. It has a fine brass ferrule....not a solid bolster like those typical on later "Negrito bolos." A little over 22 inches overall. It also has comes with it's original leather scabbard which is in very good condition. Most of the belt thong remains as well. Overall, it's in excellent condition and is quite a rare example. Serious inquiries only and to the best offer. Thanks for looking :D !
