ANOTHER flask from either Morocco or Algeria. Leather over wood carcase. Quite large 9 1/2" top to toe.Could someone please identify? Unfortunately this one has suffered from borer but can, I am sure be improved somewhat with some careful filling of the holes.

Hi Stu

Yes, it looks like the worms had a field day with this one. Still, very presentable. Either Moroccan or Algerian is also my guess. So difficult to pin point with many of these flasks. Imagine how long it took to stich and shrink the leather around the wood body. But it would have done a good job keeping the powder away from the elements.

Dear Stu

Difficult to say, the shape is Algerian, but the leather and the nails are Moroccan. I'll say Morocco, but from the eastern border.
Here are the good Algerian ones...

Hi Kubur

Nice examples of Algerian flasks. Yes, that shape with the carved all wood containers. I still don't have one of these in my collection. They don't seem to come up for sale often.
