It seems to be Dan but will check and let you know. Bill I would say it's Dan.

have to agree with Lew....Dan. Here is mine, these seem to have symbolic design 'elements' (circles....sun ? moon? ...the cycle of life??) which I have not been able to confirm their meaning.

These are very nice items. I would recommend all interested in the complexities of the weapons from West African, Savannah and Sahel to get this book from amazon Warfare in Atlantic Africa, 1500-1800 . It is gently academic and easy to read most of all the author gets across the quality of warfare and weaponry sadly so often assumed undeveloped.

The wool loops on Bills example would suggest an origin outside of a forest environment, unless wool was traded?
