thought i should add one to my oceanic & african ones...

described as a amazonian Kayapo war club from Guyana, South America.

1.2 kilos, 1.35 metres long. carved all over with longitudinal grooves.

A VERY NICE CLUB I LIKE IT. I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE THAT HAS THE FULL LEGNTH FLUTED CARVING AND STRAIGHT CUT STRIKING END. THERE ARE SOME GOOD PICTURES OF VARIATIONS OF THIS CLUB IN A OLD POST OF SOUTH AMERICAN CLUBS.

i read thru the threads here that came up from a search on 'kayapo', quite informative. saw many similar with some of the features of 'my' one, but not all. looks like many with the fibre braiding on the grip also had a seizing wrap on the ends of the fibre to hold iy in place and protect the ends of the braiding.

Looks like a "kayapo" / Mebegokre kô to me :)

They live around the Xingu riverlands, not Guyana

great catch!

thanks, vinny

pins it down more. the vendor had covered all bases in the title description.

"Huge heavy Amazon South American Kayapo Guyana Brazil Venezuela grooved War Club"

:)

i see it's only 3 inches from guyana tho. ;) close enough for government work.
