Wootz dagger help

2 Attachment(s)
Gentlemen,

happy new year to all of you first up.
I am currently in Aqaba, Jordan, and stumbled over this curved dagger.
Allegedly, it is some 50 years old.
Length is roughly 40 cm, bone handle has a thumb rest.
One can see the layers of steel on top of the one piece blade.
May I ask your appreciated opinions on this one?

Thanks in advance,
Dirk.

They sell in Jordan and Syria these kind of daggers and swords, it's Indian and recent 1970ties. plus they want a lot of money for these.
Don't buy!

My wife had a bad feeling with the seller.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Best,
Dirk

I agree 100% with Kubur. In fact they are still making these today.

Yep.. Indian Zirah Bouk, and about 10 years old. As Battara said, they are still made today for tourist market. Can get them in India for 10 bucks.

PS: This knife has nothing to do with Wootz. The blade is made of very low quality pattern welded steel (some call it "damascus" steel).
