Why not go to the vet?

When a question about the tang or other things on a weapon is in question, it could be a good thing to go and see a vet. If you live in a big town the vet might consider you a loony, but if you live a bit out of town, it should be safe.

The thing is, that most of the vets have x-ray equipment big enough to x-ray a dagger or a hilt, and a dentist does not, besides a private hospital might very likely report you to the police, should you come with such a question, where as most of the vets are reasonable people – especially if you use them regally – instead of you own doctor that is:D.
But don't forget, what you will get, is a negative - not a positive picture - good luck.

Our vet would probably charge the same amount as it would cost to xray a pet .
Unfortunately Pets are Big Business these days in the US with conglomerates buying out individual practices at an alarming rate .

Now we have Vets R Us instead of your small town veterinarian ; sad . :(
