Spearheads - where from?

1 Attachment(s)
Hello all,

I recently won these two spearheads on eBay. While I am sure I have seen similarly shaped spears in the past, I can find nothing in my notes or any of my references. Does anyone have an idea where these spearheads may have originated from.

Cheers, Russel

Thank you, great to know the origin and see a complete example. As I would like to re-haft these, would you please tell me the length and thickness of the shaft on your example? Also, if you could provide a close-up image of the ferrule it would help me in having one fabricated. Is the ferrule silver or steel?

The length and diameter of the spear shaft would be of great help.

hi russel
the length of the ferrule is 9 cm, and the diameter 2cm. the length of the shaft of the spear is 1m75cm.

Thank you Antoine, that's a great help.

Does the ferrule taper, or is it the same diameter along it's length?

Thanks again, very helpful information.

Would anyone hazard a guess as to how old these spearheads may be?

I think early 1900.
Mine were collected between 1900/1930
