Just got this off ebay, a Persian dagger, blade shape standard.

The seller says this the handle is rhino horn - I'm not putting much stock on that. The interesting bit is that he dates it to early 20th century - could this be the case for a Qajar piece? Was this type produced until that late?

Thanks,

Emanuel

Congrats Emanuel. Rather rudimentary in appearances but the hilt does look as though it could be Rhino horn which is always a nice pickup, good to see the finial on the scabbard too. I look forward to seeing it cleaned up. Don't let some Chinese get the hilt, I just saw a couple of large Rhino horns and a Rhino knobkerrie sell for about 45000USD including premiums.........off to be ground into powder I would say.....

Thanks, I'll put more pics up when I receive it. The scabbard's completeness was a big plus for me too.
