THIS BELONGS TO A FRIEND IN FRANCE AND HE IS KEEN TO KNOW THE ORIGIN/CULTURE WHICH THIS KNIFE/DAGGER BELONGS TO,MY THOUGHTS ARE SRI LANKA BUT SOMEONE HERE CAN TELL EXACTLY WHERE THE ORIGIN IS FROM

Could be an enep from South Asia, Thailand, Kambocha or Laos but I am unsure. Before it is really beautiful it need a lot of care, special the blade! ;)

shape of the sheath indicates its form northern videnam. form one of the various meo groups there.
