Hi

Can anyone help to identify this item. Made of embossed silver over leather, good workmanship, seems of Islamic design. Could it be for holding bullets or similar ? From Afghanistan or North West India maybe ??

Nice item and looks Middle Eastern/Afghani to me. Style is similar to the Ottoman brass items often seen but to me much nicer.

Yemen. Probably a bullet container. See a whole ammunition belt with similar containers and powder flask.

Thanks to those who commented on this piece. Looks to be definitely from Yemen.
Wondering whether to clean the silver a bit, or maybe its best to leave it alone...any recommendations ?
