My friend Alex found this sword recently which has some Chinese or similar features. But is it China ?

Blade length 61 cm, total length 81 cm. I guess beginning of 19.c. Scabbard wood, with engraved silver mountings.

The hilt is comnplete ivory which I have never seen before, also the cross guard.

The ivory nicely carved. For fighting it is for my opinion to precious. Maybe it would be used

for ceremonial purposes.

Any suggestions ?
