Hello,

It would be nice if you show us the whole thing!

Not that I am very knowledgeable, but I doubt that anyone can form an educated oppinion from a photo of a fragment of the blade.

Maybe you can get a bigger photo from the owner?

In Java the dapur type may be called Laler Mengeng Bungkem (inverted kembang kacang touching the gandik), the pamor pattern is not very clear and the blade would benefit from cleaning & staining. Is the blade straight or wavy?
Regards :)

Hello La Pagaru,
As far as I know in Java Laler Mengeng is a straight dapur type while Kupu Tarung (butterfly wings) is a pamor pattern style.
I (and probably other collectors) would be very interested to see equivalence tables for similar dapur types and pamor pattern styles from Sulawesi and Java. I realize that it may difficult as many of them may not be exactly similar...
