Hi Experts,

there are two little points (5 mm diagonal) on the blade of this yatagan.
What do you thik, is it possible that this was marks and somebody
filled it up with some kind of metal. It looks a little bit so.
Is there someone, who has an idea ...

Strange to see 2 marks like that! I suppose the first mark didnt "print" well on the red metal so they struck a second one! If you clean the area and look with the help of a magnifying glass, you should see a letter or a name from arabic alphabet.

But i scratch the surface a little bit...it feels like lead

I am quite sure that the forum rules, that the whole sword must be shown, has slipped your mind. Please show the wholsé sword.

Hi Ibiloglu.
You normally find an image as stated with Islamic script which I have always assumed to be a makers mark. The stamp on one of my Yatagans shows such marks but is so deep it has created a stress point which has lead to crack in the blade.
Regards
Miguel

After removing the material I can see there are some Arabic letters.
But the cleaning process is not finished.
I will try to clean the rest of the metal.
Thanks to you all...
