Betel Knife from Bali (or lombok?)

2 Attachment(s)
Hello,

Here are two betel knives for comment.
At first I thought it was a Tiuk Pengenta type knife, but then I discovered a very similar copy in Heny Brownrigg's book: Betel Cutters.
The handle was identical but the blade was cut in the shape of a character.

Apart from the knife figured in this book I never see another photo on the internet.

Maybe in some menbre of the forum possesses of other similar knife to show for comparison?

First knive : Lenght 28cm; Blade : 12,7cm; Handle in bufalo horn with silver.
Second knive : Lenght 26cm; Blade : 11,6; Handle in wood with silver.

Hi,

don't own one but can confirm, this are Betel knives from Bali or Lombok and yes, they are similar to the shown knife by H. Brownrigg.

Best,
Detlef
