I seem to be getting nowhere on the Aribic translation. This may be as this could be Urdu. I did not think of that which is a bit dumb. I think the script is up right way.

I had a friend from India look at it and it may be Urdu? He said since this is from Afghanistan it probably is Urdu and not Arabic. I'll ask around at work I may have someone there who can read it.

Thanks Lew, you have made me look further, it could also be Dari similar to Farsi and also Pashto though I am afraid I would not be able to tell one from the other.

These chooras are usually atributed to the Khyber Pass area tribes. Aren't these Pashtun peoples ? and so the inscription ?
Just a hint.

That would seem to suggest Pashto one of the two official languages of Afghanistan. I imagine they are all fairly similar to the untrained eye. The script might just be the makers or owners name, it would just be nice to really know.

Tim

My friend confirmed that it is Farci but she can't read it she only knows Hindi and Urdu. I will try to find someone who reads Farci.
