Greetings.
My grandfather left me this sword. Can anyone give me more information about it. All I know is that it's turkish. I can post more pics if needed. Thanks.

Please provide close-ups of the handle and the silver parts of the scabbard.

Where do you live?

Despite condition issues with the scabbard, a very fine and special sword Ivan, congrats.

Ivan posted this on another forum first, it was suggested to him that this forum might be a better place to find out some informtion on this type of sword, I was thinking that this sword may be Persian and not Ottoman, any thoughts?

To me the niello decoration looks similar to that on items from Yannina: you can see the style in Elgood's latest book.
