Finding of Bronze age lance heads ... and an everlasting particularity
 

These four lance heads were found in Northern Portugal, hidden underneath a large rock, in an area that became a quarry, by three workers whom later ceded them to the Anthropology Museum of the University of Sciences of Oporto. According to their specialists there is no doubt that they date from the Initial Bronze Age; the one with the socket 1400 BC and the others 1450 BC.
What takes me to bring these rarities in here, is a detail described in example nº 1 (first left) in that, its full length mid ridges section, differ in each side. In one face, the ridge sides are slightly (fuller like) hollowed up to the first middle of its length; whereas in the other, the ridge sides are completely flat, even slightly convex here and there.
With absolutely no intention to make comparisons on an age basis, i think of some 'irregular' behavior in the forging of my own lance head (bought in 2009), where the center ridge in one side was built on its first half and, in the opposite, it was built on its second half; not approximately or by accident ... precisely as i mention, with a deliberate intention.
For what reason ? ... food for thought :shrug:.

The seller dated it XVI-XVII century; maybe !
