This photo is not merely to "selfie". Just wanted to show you one of King Geusan Ulun relatives who are still alive, and the director and curator of the Museum at the same time the now former director, Mr. Raden Achmad Wiriaatmaja Moh (wearing cap). Mr Achmad is now the chairman of the Foundation of Prince customary Sumedang (Prince Sumedang Foundation). He is the one worth to ask anything on Sumedang history...

Mataram era kerises....
 

Dear Jean,

Even more kerises stored in this museum. The picture above, is only one of about 10 showcase containing kerises, kudi, kujang, pedang (sword), sundanese golok, and dozens of old tombaks (spears). And not only tosan aji that come from the Sundanese, Cirebon, but also Mataram as well, and there also s few tosan aji from outside Jawa. Some kerises derived from Mataram period, especially the era of Sultan Agung, because Sumedang did in the past been closely related to Mataram. Especially after its kingdom status was degraded by the Dutch colonial government, became the duchy (kadipaten) or regent (kabupaten).

Also stored in this museum, some ancient manuscripts, as well as various forms kudi and traditional form pusaka of Sunda, kujang are clearly visible, at least to the time of Padjadjaran kingdom in Sunda ...

There are also two Nagasasra kerises that has a history, as it is used by certain figures in Sumedang to hereditary, and there are records. One of the keris, is Nagasasra once worn by Prince Kornel, one person Sumedang regent - who prefers to use his right hand holding a keris, as well as one of the leaders greet colonial Dutch East Indies Governor General Willem Daendels use his left hand .....

This keris below is also a keris in the era after era of Sultan Agung of Mataram. Keris Nagasasra which is, according to records, is the king of Mataram Amangkurat giving. And the last time owned Prince Rangga Gempol, Sumedang regent from 1656 to 1706. Either Nagasasra Kornel or Nagasasra of Prince Rangga Gempol has a style that is different from the usual keris Nagasasra of Mataram. Possibly, this dagger is tailored to the holding, the relative nobility of Sunda ....
