The year draws to an end. Let's make a kris gathering for some holiday sights and cheers! Post your favorite kris from your collection. Keris are also welcome!

Here's mine, a Tausug kalis.

Yuletide cheers! What a lovely kalis 😊

I have only one in my collection, so the decision was not really hard :D

A Keris Palembang with a fine carved ivory hilt and a very nice blade.
Merry christmas in advance,
Robin

Very fine keris sir! And happy holidays indeed. How old would something like this be? I'm curious as I'm not that privy to keris info.

Merry K(e)rismas!

I will open a thread in the right forum tomorrow, maybe with additional photos.
I wouldn't like to board this Kristmas thread :D
Greetings

That is indeed a lovely Palembang keris. You really should post it for discussion and let the keris clan have a better look at it. :)

Well, for some reason i have not really photographed any of my Moro kris collection. :o
Though it does seems...well, unseemly, to post keris outside of the keris forum ;) here is one of my favorite keris.
Happy Holidays everyone! :)

Lovely keris examples! I'm beginning to develop a keris fondness and seeing why they're addicting to collect as well! Rick, really nice archaic twistcore kalis!

Nice old archaic Sulu kris with horn hilt and suassa fittings. Simple but elegant.

xasterix 19th December 2020 05:15 AM

Elegant archaic kalis Ian. The horn hilt-suassa combination is topnotch! Hope all's going well down under :D

That's a good one! Looks very secure and still battle (bottle)-worthy =)

OK, i do have one photo of my favorite Moro kris. This kris is particularly special to me because it is actually the very first ethnographic edged weapon i ever acquired. This is what started my passion. If there could only be one...
The fittings on the hilt are a fairly high grade silver and the asang-asang is suassa.

...and a Blessed Krismas to you all. ;) :)

Exquisite kris sir! Every line seems to speak of luxury and high taste. Merry Krismas! Rick, if we can only buy the whole rack...lol
