Yesterday ended this unusal Jian (?) sword by ebay, congrats for the happy winner. I think it's worth to shown here for future reference and secondly because I want to learn and know more about this sword. Could this be a Yunnan made sword? The guard is similar to my dao: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ghlight=yunnan so my guess.
Would like to read what the experts for Chinese swords think about this sword.

The quatrefoil guard resembled that of an odd Chinese knife I posted sometime back.

This jian has some great age, and is different enough in the hilt to where one of the experts should be able to provide something.
