Sabiki Jambiya

Here are some relatively recent photos from Asir, Saudi Arabia. The Asir region was annexed from Yemen in the early 1900's. The pictures show the sale of and wearing of what we call the Wahhabi jambiya but it is evidently known as the Sabk or Sabiki in the area. In fact, the area of Asir, far from being Wahhabi, is primarily populated by Shi'ites of the the Zaidi sect. This is the 1st photo I have seen of these Sabiki worn in modern times.
