Just picked this up. Nice old one I think but the scabbard will need some restoration.

That is a nice palembang keris, Lew. Some polish on the scabbard is necessary. The scabbard looks pretty good to me, but that is something you can tell when you received this one.

Ah! yes... A simple and no nonsense tough-looking blade. Was monitoring this piece. The selut seems to be a little oversize. ;) Perhap a close-up of the piece when you've got it and touched-up a bit. :)

So you are the new owner now. Congrats !!
Actually, was tempted to bet on that but later overlooked with my work loads. :D

That is really a practical and functional keris. Like what Alam Shah said, no-nonsense blade. Try stab a banana stem and you'll know what I mean. :D

The keris arrived today. I put some polish on it and it brought it back nicely.
There are two nicks in the blade but all in all not a bad little keris.

Hmmm... it looks better now. The selut seems ok, too.
Overall, a nice little ganja iras piece. Thanks for showing. :)

The blacky blade sure look fierce. Love it. Is it ganja iras...?? Looks not to me.

Alam Shah

What is ganja iras? I am not familiar with these specific names.

Thanks

Hi Lew...means the gonjo and the blade are all one piece like that Sumatran Patrem you sold to me. Frankly i can't quite tell from the pics. Often with gonjo iras a line is etched to represent a division. When i first saw pics of that patrem i didn't catch that it was iras so this could be the same. But you should be able to tell in person.
:)

BTW, i quite like this little blade. Please let me know if you ever get tired of it. I would give it a nice home... ;) :)

Lew,

I would like to make some fun like, worst buy ever! Sent it to me, quick!

What a lovely keris!! Looks like a gonjo iras indeed. Maybe some pics of the scabbard and the metal windings?

What some polish can do!! congrats!!

Henk

I took a look at the blade tonight and yes it's one piece.

As per your request. A better pic of the gonjo and band on the scabbard.
