Hi,
is it a good book for palaskes?
Thanks
Kubur

Hi Kubur.
Yes it is a fine book for palaskes with lots of good pictures but not much information.
It works very good as a reference book.

Thank you Ilias.
My Greek is like my Turkish, almost inexistant!
So a lot of pictures will be good!!
Best,
Kubur

The book may exist, but the full collection not anymore.
The collector has already given at auctions and from hand to hand most of the objects of his collections.
It is a common tactic. You first need to publish a "reference" book and then give the content at an auction. Guaranteed success. ;)

Hi Sylektis,
I know what you mean, it was done recently and the collection was sold in LA and London...
I just got these two items, is the ammunition box Greek or Turk?
The ramrod is from the Balkans, Albanian?
Best,
Kubur

Hi Kubur.
That's a nice looking Suma rod and cartridge container.
The rod could be from most anywhere, but I'm going to say Ottoman for the moment. What is the overall length of the rod? And the length of the non-grip portion? That might give me a clue.
Cartridge container: I really like the embossing of the two warriors. Very neat. Greek or Turk? Hmmm.......could be either. The Greeks seemed to be fond of using human figures in their decorations. So I'm leaning in that direction.
Great looking set that would go well with a Kubur pistol :) Thanks for Posting. Rick.

Thank you rickystl.kubur I think the palaska is from balkan area because 1: the man up in the horse wearing fustanella, fustanella is the dress for Christians in ottoman empire. 2:I a think in ottoman empire the Muslims are not allowed by the religion to bring object human performances.
