A Black and White Morion

Recently added this piece to my collection. It has a more stylized type of fleur de lis that seems to be much less common.

Does anyone know of more examples of this particular style?

Are there any period art works that show fleur de lis morions? I have not been able to locate any.

As always, any and all thoughts are welcome.

This is a link to the database of the Dutch National Military Museum (Nationaal Militair Museum). They have got some fine examples of black and white morions. No morions with a fleur the lis.

Hi Casey,

so far I have not been able to find an identical fleur de lys either, but there were many small variation of the fleur de lys on these morion helmets.
As they were often used by town guard troops they might have been slightly different depending from which area they originated.
Anyway, congratulations with this nice original helmet.

Kind regards

Ulfberth
