A Couple Kindjals for Identification?

7 Attachment(s)
Hello

I have these two Kindjals and am wondering if anyone can tell me more about them. Not sure if there is anything that could provide a positive identification on these but ...

The smaller one has Sun symbols stamped on the blade and is 20" in total length and maximum blade width is a little over 1 3/8".

The larger one has neillo silver mounts and worn foliate patterns on both sides of the blade. It is 22.5" total length and 1 3/4" maximum blade width.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards
Rob

Hello,

I saw very similar (nearly identical) to the smaller one n the flea market in Ankara years ago. The blade was thick and very heavy. Also I saw similar on the market in Tbilisi (but with narrower, lighter and longer blade; allegedly from the Svaneti Area). But the exact origin I donīt know. I think that this purely diamond cross section without groove is not as common as the other kinds of the kinjal blades.... But I am not expert in this area
