AFRICAN DAGGER FOR ID

6 Attachment(s)
Any help in identifying this dagger which was found by a friend of mine at a local junk sale . Not sure what the grip is made of , and the blade is unusual as it is 'stepped' longitudinally in the same way as is seen on some African spear blades. Overall length 35 cm, blade length 25 cm, max blade width 3 cm. Seems good quality.

Has a Mangbetu to look to it perhaps? :)

Nice

I also think this one is Mangbetu or Zande is also possible.

You have a beauty with (in my opinion) a very nice ivory hilt. Could be the sheath was made for a European as it is atypical.

Agree with Ian and Freddy, Mangbetu or Zande, very nice piece! Handle is ivory.

Detlef
