French m1767 Epee d'Officier d'Infanterie

Another sword new to me, this time a French model 1767 infantry officers' smallsword with hefty 835mm hollow-ground, triangular colichemarde blade.

This is one of the earlier styles with the round pommel and faux Turk-heads knots at each end of the grip. Normally the guard on these was silver-plated, but I did find some markings on one of the annulets. Does anyone recognise them?

Another neat sword!

The pressed metal Turk's knots are interesting and somehow lends more emphasis on a useful weapon. I have dismissed a few swords I have seen them on but will be taking another look at some relative bargains I see.

Cheers
