AFRICAN AXE for ID and COMMENT

Well out of my usual collecting area, but I thought nice anyway. Any ideas please as to origin. The decorative inlays are copper, brass and some white metal. The collars below the axe head are copper. The blade which appears to be of reasonable quality steel, is in my opinion a very usable one, and is sharp enough to do some damage to somebody in conflict.

SONGYE AXE

HI STU
YOUR AXE IS FROM THE SONGYE TRIBE OF DRC
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
CHEERS

Although there is a superficial resemblance to Songye axes, I think this is from the Western Sahel region. That copper wire inlay is indicative.

Have seen images somewhere, but regret don't have them to hand.
