SPEARS FOR I.D

I have a " few " spears and apart from zulu and Masai I cannot really identify many of them.

Any suggestions on these two ? They are the 2 on the left, leaning on the chair.

Both approximately 5 ft long with the heads 14 and 15 inches.

One has a low grade silver collar with a thin head, pierced with 2 holes. The other has a brass collar and a much heavier, thick head.

Both are heavily carved as you can see.

They appear to be made out of the same wood as my Sumputan so I am guessing they are Dayak ?

Thanks
Roy

They are certainly Indonesian. The one next to them is Moro. Would you show close ups as well of that one?

Yes, agree with Jose, certainly indonesian spears, maybe from Sumatra.

Hello Roy,

Nice examples !
My feeling about the one with the brass collar is also sumatra.
I have spears with similar decorations in the wood, but the decoration continuing in the brass collar is very nice. never seen that before.

For the one with the silver collar I am not sure.
You see these silver collars also on Borneo, where it is not indigenous BTW but is an influence from abroad.

Maybe keris connaiseurs can give some clues based on the forging of the blade with the holes

It would be nice to see pictures of the other spearheads too, although they are not that elaborate, Interesting to compare them.

Best regards,
Willem

Here are 2 spears that are on the RMV website as "Kalimantan" = Borneo.
Looks like the one you have with the silver collar.

Whilst this is not my usual subject I thought to invest this picture where the specialists in spears may throw light upon these exhibits please..I have the key somewhere and will add it asap...
