Salaams Stefan ~ I hope you don't mind me saying this but...type into search Arabian Daggers and see the huge quantity of work that comes up or just hit this http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/search...earchid=886915

Forum library is very comprehensive and there are a lot of details there you will not find in books.

Regards,
Ibrahiim al Balooshi.

Thank you so very much Ibrahiim.

You are right when you say: Forum library is very comprehensive and there are a lot of details there you will not find in books.

...but I should like very much to have books too if possible.... to put in my bookshelf as reference books....:)

Best regards,

Arab dagger is a bit of a general term but when it comes to Yemeni daggers, Steve Gracie's book is one of the most valuable.

I have no book reference for you, but I will be a little fussy. Arabic is a language. When you say Arabic dagger, it is not clear if you are asking about daggers from the Arabian peninsula or about Arab daggers-daggers made by and and for ethnic Arabs. The latter is much more diverse and includes daggers from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, as well as from Arabia proper (some would even add North Africa).

Well made point Motan, if we are being entirely proper linguistically and for that matter, ethnically etc etc. then 'Arabic' is probably not the exact term. However I think that collectors pretty much understand what was implied.
Thanks for pointing that out though as clarity is often key for readers out there who might misperceive this.
