This is quite rough work actually. The form is there, but the carver was obviously in a hurry. :)

This is the best contemporary tajong made in Indonesia that I have seen so far. This is almost there! The vegetal flourish is a bit excessive in places, but it's still good.

Kudos to the young carver who did this!

The carver of the hilt above added his own special touches, like the slightly curving panels to the side of the eyes, the eyelid on top of the eyeballs, the lotus motifs on the garuda mungkir and base of the bunga teratai base (both hidden), and the recessed arms.

I like the overall expressiveness of the hilt.
