What Kind of Armor is this?

Greetings,

This is from a friend. It is armor, but is it Spanish, a Victorian copy, a fantasy piece? It is certainly European looking.......

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I reckon this is a piece of fantasy armour, mid-20th century, for somebody who wants something 'original' to decorate the hallway. it would be quite impractical as real armour to fight in and less than impressive as parade armour when compared to genuine 16th-17th century harnesses.

This was made by one of several companies in Spain that have produced this sort of " den decorator " armour for 50 or 60 years. They're non functional decorator pieces. I've seen exactly this suit several times over the years including oddly enough in a small town country hardware store in the southerntier of New York state.

I wondered if it were fantasy. Certainly later and more recent. Thank you for your help.
