ANOTHER TSUNAMI HITS JAWA

My prayers go out to our brothers and sisters in Jawa and my deepest hopes that all our forumites, their families and friends are safe.
Strangely, i awoke this morning from a powerful dream. I was in an unfamilar city, in a hotel i think, when disaster struck and the streets outside were filling up with rushing water. When the waters resided i walked the streets taking photos (i'm a photojournalist) of the aftermath. When i woke i turned on the radio and the tsunami report was one of the first things i heard. My heart goes out to you all.

Poor people... One disaster after another...
We have friends in Jakarta. Hope they are OK.

Mudi 19th July 2006 04:33 AM

Worst of this authorities in Jakarta were warned of tsunami but no way to get warning out in time.

My heart goes out to them! This makes me rethink about my life, how it is more fortunate a lot of people. My problem is nothing compare to the people there and other places that the humans are suffering.

God bless their souls!

Tsunami

Belasungkawa.

My sympahties for the people of Java. Judging from the active seismic movements in that part of the world within the past year or so, I guess the people of the archipelago must be prepared for the possibility of Mother Nature exhibiting her full range of powers in the future. Sometimes, even in the peninsula we can actually feel the mild jolts coming from the volcanic region in the rest of Nusantara, despite supposedly being in a quake free zone (but not too far away, Jakarta is only an hour or so by flight, Medan and Tanjung Pinang is closer.)

Nechesh, I believe what you experienced before the tragedy is what the Javanese might call 'wangsit'.

Well, i think that technically the tsunami had already taken place before i had my dream, but there was certainly no news of it that i heard until i turned the radio on upon waking. It was one of those very intense, hyper-real dreams that is filled with details....sounds, smells and colors.
Sadly, with all the other tensions in the world these days i have heard very little about the situaution in Jawa since. :(

God with them
