Could you help colleagues from Ethnographic Arms & Armour? Was there such a mark on English swords?

Hi!

To me that animal looks more a squirrel...?

But English swords I don't know anything.
Only that they are good.

best regards Markku

One English researcher assures that it is the famous English sword fox's mark. I'm not an expert in English swords too, but I understand a little about Indian .... squirrels. I really hope I'm wrong.
