Rick was correct! It seems that I am infected! :D I think I have bought another arm dagger but I am not sure and special not sure about the origin. Handle is from bone like the seller stated and it is 26 cm long.

All comments are welcome.

My guess would be Zande. The hilt on Hausa daggers are different.

The hilt on zande is ivory the dagger is circa 1920s. Yes it could have been used as an arm dagger or carried on the waist. Your the blade does not looked forged so I would say 1930-40 but could be earlier?

Wow, thank you very much Lew! This is the best compliment you can give me!:D  ;) You have to know that I read your threads every time with great interest because I think you have an excellent taste by your purchases.
And thank you for confirming that it is ivory.

Best,

Detlef

Yesterday I also received this dagger. Lew, be happy that the seller don't want to ship to the States, otherwise you will have now the problem I have.

One piece from the ivory handle is chipped what the seller don't show by his pictures and also don't mentioned in his description. Have written him already but don't get response until now.
Otherwise is the dagger really nice so I don't know what I shall do now. What do you think?

I can make the damage to the hilt on his auction although not as stark as your photo his is dark so it is hard to see but I see it. Must have missed that usually I copy any under exposed pic and pump up the midtone brightness when I see this type of dark picture. That way any hidden flaws can be seen . You have a choice of leave alone or sand it smooth or return it.

Thank you Lew,

have seen it also, but to late. The seller have sold this dagger before already and it seems that it was returned and he have get a negative feedback for this.
Still wait for response from the seller.

Still no response from the seller but have decided to keep the dagger like this. Have cleaned the ivory handle and it shows a nice natural grain.
