Philippine bolo knife restored

Not long ago I purchased this small bolo knife from ebay, nothing special and not very old. When it arrives at it destination it was obviously that the bone hilt was splitted in parts and only hold in place by the brass fittings. Also when the knife isn't from great worth I decided that this piece get restored. Robert has done again an outstanding job.
Here at first the pictures from the piece before restauration.

Robert does very nice restoration work! I see that the brass came up very "white" with cleaning--perhaps a high nickel content in the copper alloy.

I think your knife is very collectable. The strong Spanish influence in the hilt and the ricasso notch is certainly apparent.

Ian.

Hello Ian,

thank you for comment. The strong Spanish influence and the nice bone handle was the reason that I bought it but it wasn't stated that the handle was broken.

Regards,
Detlef
