Nice one Lew,
followed this on eBay ...but the 'credit crunch' prevented me bidding :( Be nice to see more pictures when you receive it.

Just thought I would add an interesting note to this item. Coincidentally on our European Armoury forum, we are presently discussing the Irish 'shillelagh'. For those interested in the knobkerry and various forms of club type weapons, there is some interesting perspective.

Best regards,
Jim

Very nice Lew,
do you know whether the 'concave' upper surface of the club has any practical or functional use ?

It has a purpose. Zulu warriors would rub animal fat into the concave surface in this way the oils from the fat would seep down into the head and keep it from drying out and cracking.
