Philippine Knife
 

Here is a very nice Luzon knife that I just acquired. I had been watching this in an ebay store for quite some time and finally a few days ago decided to make an offer on it. My offer was accepted so I now get to add this beautiful item to my collection. The blade is a little over 16 inches long and the total length is a little over 21 inches. As I do not have this yet I will post the store pictures. This should date to the late 19th to early 20th century. Buffalo horn grip with brass fittings the brass windings are missing but it is otherwise in good condition. The nicely tooled leather scabbard is in good condition for its age but is missing the tip. I wonder if this had a decorative leather tip or a metal drag? Any comments or information will be greatly appreciated.

You know, I was checking this one out for a long time! I thought the seller would drop the buy it now price. I never thought to submit an offer. :( Even if I didn't get it, it is good to see it made it in to good hands. Nice piece Robert!

The shape is near similar to a dagger I have.

Hello Dimasalang, I am honestly very sorry to hear that you were watching this too. The way it was listed I didn't think anybody would have seen it. I was hoping he would drop the price on this also but when he didn't I figured what the heck make him an offer. He refused the first but sent a counter offer that I decided to take. One thing that I've found out on submitting an offer to a seller, don't send anything that you don't want to see added to the auction. :eek: By the way, what is your opinion on the age of the piece?
