Old Bugis blade from Sulawesi, deeply cleaned
Recently made dress

Nice and good Bugis keris. I don't think that the sheat and hilt are recent but well restored. The sampir wood have some old cracks you can see often by kemuning wood.

Considering the cracks I also think thatthis scabbard is not newly made, but just cleaned and well polished.
Same as with the blade, cleaned and stained in javanese style.
Not the way I like it with bugis blades, by the way.

Still, nice piece, amazing what comes out of this swiss cupboard ;) :)

Agree, possibly, most likely refinished .
A Sepokal* form of blade I believe .

Nice .
