persian brass bronze shield

Hello everybody,
I just won this auction in an Auction house for a few money:

I find it really nice,
they sold it as an old bronze persian shield ... nothing more

a friend of mine told me it can be old (19th )but cast and not hammered so probably made for tourists .

It's heavy: 1,2kg ( 2.6 pounds) for 30cm (11.8 inches ) diameter , 0,35cm thick, we can see old repairs.
I don't think touristic stuff would be so thick

Have you an idea about age, exact origin ?...

Thank you

Not Persian, but Sumatran. Search the forum for "Peurise".

It's a nice one, certainly not made for tourists (in my opinion).

Cheers - Russel
