Unusual Indian Dagger Handle

2 Attachment(s)
Saw this dagger recently on eBay. The handle has an unusual "attachment" near finial. It seems to be glued, and matching the handle. Any idea what could be the purpose of such feature? A built in smoking pipe? :)
Also, something does not look right, and my initial thought was mid/late 1900's production, or what one could call "vintage" opposite to "antique", i.e. less than 100 y.o.

ITS AN OLD HANDLE WITH A NEW BLADE,SOMEONE HAS TRIED TO MAKE IT LOOK AS AN ORIGINAL AND THE HANDLE EITHER IVORY OR BONE IS OF SOMETHING ELSE,NOT MEANT FOR A DAGGER,CHEERS

The hilt seems to be made from a bone opium pipe.

Personally I do not see the handle as old either...

And the hilt does not fit well with the blade.

I've seen this too and stayed far away............
