This came in with a few bits from auction ,its about 8 foot tall bamboo with a keris sword attached to the end , I wouldn't think this is original would you ?

While i have learned not to ever say never i would feel 99.999999999% comfortable say that your suspicion that this "can't be right" is absolutely correct. :)

This is something I have not seen previously, but logically, it could be an indigenous adaptation.

Good close-ups of the union between blade and shaft, and the butt end of the shaft, as well as a couple of closeups of sections of the shaft might help in the forming of an opinion.

Tuban blade??

they must be able to weld/braze, it appears so with the red corrosion and lack of mechanical way to attach the blade.

Thanks Chief.

Sorry, I'm no wiser.

This adaptation could have been done by anybody.

I was taught welding in high school and seems that someone welded a keris to the pole. Kind of dis-respectful to the keris itself.

If the fastening is strong, this should be a very effective lance!
