I do not often post here but I came across this cannon in a local museum recently. Some history of the piece is also shown. Foveaux Strait is the stretch of water separating the South Island of New Zealand from Stewart Island.
Thought it might be of interest.

Always good to have one of these around, specially when well identyfied and with an amazing story :) .
Just a pity that i have in my hometown a handsome XVIII century fortification but no cannons were left. I wonder were they are by now :confused:
Being proud of this local monument, i hope yu don't mind me posting a couple pics.
