Another one  .....this is becoming an obsession Flavio ;) Perhaps you should get some psychiatric help :p

Nice  followed this on eBay, I asked the seller for better pictures of the blade but, he just posted more on his listing and I wasn't prepared to take a risk especially as the price increased...and the pictures (blade) were not very clear.

Look forward to the pictures when you receive the dagger.

Hi David,

yes, I know that this can become a problem, I'll try to find some help :p :D
I have asked at the seller about the blade and he/she says that the rust is only superficial.... I'll show you some better pictures soon... :)

Regards

Nice one Flavio!

I was watching an almost identical one on ebay a week ago (http://cgi.ebay.ca/KORDOFAN-DAGGER_W...QQcmdZViewItem). The seller said it was from Kordofan (Sudan) and that he had seen them made there in the 1960s. Bladesmiths and hilt makers were in the same spot and customers could pick and mix blades with fittings as they wanted. Can anyone corroborate this?

All the best,
Emanuel

Hello Emanuel,

the seller says that the dagger is from 1850

"1850 fully documented African dagger , lovely detail on handle and sheaf , and blade is in an uncleaned state as is the rest of the knife , comes with receipt of date of purchase , great condition"

but who knows  for sure the one you post is quite similar.....
Maybe a vintage souvenir but seems well made.... like the Tjikerohoe goloks from indonesia.... Now I'm very very curious to see this "receipt"....

Regards
Flavio :)

I hate to tell you but your dagger is a early to mid 20th century 1920s-50.

Ok, also this one is arrived, and well, I think that it's really nice :) What do you think?

asomotif 5th April 2008 03:45 PM

Flavio,

I am sorry to say that this one is really dissapointing. ;)

I think the best thing to do is to send it to my address :D :D :D

And stop posting these wonderfull daggers, we are all in great danger of getting infected with the same virus :D :D :D

Ps. was the receipt dated 1850 ?

Flavio 5th April 2008 04:38 PM

Thank you Willem :) Unfortunatly the receipt wasn't in the parcel and so I ask the seller to send me, but maybe the story of the receipt it's just a big lie.... who knows
