Basic bush/ jungle utility knife...good for clearing jungle vegetation, cooking or constructions tasks. Usually each house will have one.

And how it is called? Not dha?

Oh, it is a dha, I just didn't use the Burmese word...I was just describing how this is a very common machete/bush length knife.

Dha = single edge blade/ Knife...similar as in Chinese, Dao = single edge blade

dha: (Thai/Shan/Lao/Burmese) blade, or knife (also, dah).

dha-lhut: (Burmese) dha-shay worn without a scabbard (lit. "loose/free dha"); in the past, not all soldiers were well-equipt, and some were armed only with a dha without a scabbard.

dha-hmyaung: (Burmese) dagger.

dha-lwe: (Burmese) dha-shay worn in a scabbard, over the shoulder.

dha-ma: (Burmese) chopper, cleaver.

dha-mauk: (Burmese) paring knife, utility knife.

dha-shay: (Burmese) long dha, curved sword

Many people will have these for some backyard pruning. I've used mine to trim up some smaller branches and it works quite well. I've even used them on 2-3 inch softwood limbs without much problem.
