Hi, This one is a puzzle to me, it came from Greece and has a strong Pesh Kabz
influence The bolster has the date 1880 I make the date on top of the blade to
be 1229 or 1814. The writing may well be Turkish. The blade style very functional. OAL 13 inches 9 inch blade. What is it? Origin? Thanks, Steve

Algeria or Mooroco. Interesting. The flats of the blade look to be hollow ground? Nice looking piece. Kodme or flyssa.

Hopefully, with all the Ottoman symbols, the Script will be Turkish as well. I miss-stated the Date, I now think it reads 1811.
Tom, your response on this knife may well apply to the I/P style knife with the Afghan Dealie, your placement may well be correct for both. The blade is hollow ground, good eye.
Its not like identifying some of these knives isn't enough I'm always drawn to the multicultural composites to boot. Thanks, Steve

More Ideas& Doms Shula

Here's a really nice Shula posted recently by Dom http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showth...ighlight=shula Note the blade shape. Shots of a couple more Shula. The crude sheath on mine resembles the more common Shula.
The designs and hilt lean towards Turkish Styles. A translation will refine its'
origins being Arabic or Turkish language.
