Hello
I came across the attached item, no information at all on it
would anyone be able give me some idea of origin

Total length 24cm
blade 14cm
shaft handle 10cm
blade width at widest 5.5cm

nice metal work with good platina
nice decoration on the part that goes onto the handle and some decorative checkering on the central spine of the blade
timber handle would have been 10-11mm diameter
originaly fastened by pin into handle (not sure if will show in photos)
ps ruler is 300mm long

Yes definitely African, looks West African to me from the chisel work and decorative motifs. Sadly I can't say much more than that.
