Keris carita

Hello,

I acquired this keris not too long ago. Seems to be Javanese, dapur carita. Pamor is beras/wos wutah I think. The blade exhibits a nice sustained ring when struck.

Not particularly old, I have the impression the blade is coated with laquer as the surface is smooth and has what looks like streaks running the length of the blade. I realize it's practically impossible to tell from pictures whether this is the case or not, so I'll just ask if this is at all common.

I'd like to re-stain the blade to bring out the pamor some more, and I'm currently hunting for some appropriate realgar on the bay.

Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

the surakarta warangka looks good with its iras gandar. it maybe kemuning wood. the pendok looks old and nice. the mendak, I don't knoe whether its Jogja or surakarta.

The keris it self looks new for me. we can see some file markings on the keris.
the ricikan does not look good. the finishing work was not well done.
